Dr. Bijng Xiong joins the Bioanalytics Group for her postdoc!
Bijng recently completed her PhD at University of Leipzig
Dr. Bijing Xiong received her PhD from University Leipzig in 2022. Her PhD thesis on microscale quantification of pH and oxygen as drivers of bacterial fungal interactions was supervised by Prof. Hauke Harms and Dr. Lukas Y. Wick at Helmholtz-UFZ. While at UFZ, Bijing developed research interests in optical ratiometric sensing, quantitative fluorescence microscopy and single-cell analysis. Her research in the Bioanalytics Group focuses on the development of gel droplets microfluidics allowing for the study of microbial antibiotic resistance under fluctuating antibiotic stress at single-cell or few cells level.
